Have you met your Divine Self, yet? Well worth the effort!
What do we mean by our “Divine Self”? There are a number of people who appear on pages of glossy magazines who look in the mirror and see their “Divine Selves”, so apart from them … what to YOU understand as your “Divine Self”?
There are a vast number of folk who have been taught from childhood that they have no “Divine Self”; that they do not deserve one; that it was taken from them by their actions or their history; that believing in it is just cause for punishment. There are others who believe their “Divine Self” is some other person who wears strange clothes or talks in incomprehensible language, or who claims to have a specially designated blood-line. This is so sad. We all have a “Divine Self”, of course we do!

So where do we find him or her; what does a “Divine Self” actually do; how do we interact with him or her, and why is it important? These are all very valid questions. There are large numbers of people who have devoted their lives to answering them. In no way am I claiming that I know better than any of them, nor do I say I’ m right. But I have found tremendous comfort and strength in knowing my “Divine Self” and it has proved time and time again to be beneficial to my clients to introduce them to each other.

The easiest way to explain this is to look at some large organisation; maybe a financial institution or a hospital, or a vast corporation. At the bottom you find the humble workers, they don’t know all that goes on, they have no authority nor do they make decisions. Working up the ‘food chain’, eventually you find those who DO know what’s going on, who DO have authority, and who DO make decisions. We fall in the lower two categories: some of us know what’s going on, and some of us are prepared to take authority over their own lives. But we’re all constantly seeking the missing bit – who makes the decisions? Who decides what our lives will be like, what learning we will do, and how we’ll do it. Who decides who we will be? This is the job of the “Divine Self”.

If you are looking for answers, then ask you’re “Divine Self”. How? By not being arrogant, nor being too subservient, nor following anyone else’s words. Write your own list of instructions and then follow them. Why follow someone else? Why give them your heart and soul?

Sit in a state of gratitude and grace, quietly and respectfully, with no pomp and ceremony, state what you want to know and then …. Wait. The old adage of “Keep It Simple, Stupid”, works every time. You will get an answer; it may not be the answer you want, or even like, but if you keep your own head-ego-babble under control, you will hear that quiet answer.

Say thank you and don’t argue – I’ve been assured that an argument is considered a challenge and there is nothing They enjoy more than a challenge! You may not like where things go.
What does your “Divine Self” look like? He or she looks like pure light, or love, or purity, or innocence or whatever you want it to look like. Whatever you desire to be – your “Divine Self” already is, and he or she will hold that image and that place for you until you are ready to claim it.
You do not have to struggle to become anything; you already are.

With love, from your own Inner Tuition.

Do you have inherent skills, or abilities you have not used?
As we travel through time, having one incarnation after another; learning and experiencing as we do, we begin to find a resonance with one or other skill. It can be quite comforting to know what this is, along the lines of a “Cosmic Aptitude Test”.

I quite enjoy working on this for the folk who consult with me – but I’m extremely reluctant to do this for those who do not have considerable life experience upon which to draw. I feel that young people who are joining the job market straight from school need to find their own way for a while. Whereas those who are facing mid-life crises are mature enough to recognise the truth in what we discover.

Of course, there are many times I’m not right, (What? Me? Never!), but those I work with will find an echo deep within if we do, by fortune, hit on the truth. A delightful young lady of 45 came to see me and explained that she was facing a tremendous life change and was very confused about which direction to explore. By working with Deep Cellular Memory, I found that she’d had a number of incarnations working with animals, and also as an artist. She had a deliciously off-beat sense of humour, too, and kept me laughing! At that time she was volunteering at one of the animal rescue kennels, and had a fund of stories about the animals and their strange perspectives on the folk who rescued them. I suggested that maybe she could draw what she saw, and create a calendar to sell at the end of the year; and offer a percentage of the money she made to this particular charity. I don’t know if she did – I seldom get feedback, but it appeared that she had a whole lot to think about. Maybe she didn’t do that, exactly, but that the idea had opened another door for her, instead.

If you have had many incarnations as a sailor, selling computers is going to feel unfulfilling; if you have been a farmer for many incarnations, advising on farming methods or animal husbandry will give immense satisfaction. Likewise, if you have been in a nursing or health-orientated environment many times, a career in law is going to cause huge stress. I could go on for pages about this; I find it fascinating. I’m using these examples at random, but I’m sure you understand that. There are skills and gifts beyond number that we can explore.

We work very hard – most of the time – growing and learning and clearing old Karmic clutter. We read and exercise, meditate and diet, pray and abstain, all with the aim of evolving to a higher plane of Soul Evolution. Unfortunately, part of the journey, is forgetting what we’ve already learned and experienced. Sounds frustrating! I feel that most of the Soul Journey we embark on is just that … Frustrating! We would benefit so much by a quick glance, now and then, at the Instruction book. By looking at skills already mastered, it can be possible to track our past journey and to facilitate our future journeys.

By looking back, we begin to get a clearer understanding of how we’ve learned our own Inner Tuition.

Where does ancient knowledge come from? Do you have your own ancient knowledge that you’re not utilising? Do you have ancient beliefs or injuries that are harming you?
When I was training, it was explained that in order to achieve wisdom, and compassion for one another, it becomes necessary to experience as much as we can. Just as the Fish River Canyon was not carved over a few decades, so it’s unreasonable to expect an individual to achieve this deep understanding in one incarnation, or life time.
A great deal of research has been done regarding the concept of Re-Incarnation/ Re-Birth/or Past Lives. For some this is a scientific fact and for others it’s very esoteric, or New Age. Of course, there are those, too, who feel it’s a form of Satan-worship.

Are there such things as “Past Lives”? I don’t know. Does it matter? Not a bit. The most important thing is if the healing happens. Sometime I find that the consciousness of the individual simply presents a narrative script and when this is worked out, understanding comes. A more acceptable concept is that of working with “Soul Contracts”. The past is where you hold wisdom and wounding, testing and proving, success and failure, understanding and confusion.

Some people feel that anything ‘Spiritual’, or New Age, simply has to be filled with joy and awakening and understanding and growing. This, with respect, has not been my experience; I have worked with a lot of people over the past 25 or so years. I find this is where most people hold out-dated and irrelevant decision-making, where they hold their greatest wounding and most painful memories.

My experience is that working with “Spiritual” energy or memory uncovers great pain, loss, grief, anger, anguish and confusion, as well as peace and happiness, of course, but that is very rare. Think about it … you are far more likely to remember what didn’t work for you, than you will remember what did. If it worked for you, there is a strong possibility that you probably did not even notice or remember. But if something did not work … then THAT is what you will agonise over. And that is what you will carry as part of the cellular memory which plays out again and again. Often popping up unexpectedly, with no rational context to explain where it comes from. We feel great fear when we don’t understand what’s happening to us – immediately ideas of curses and ‘possession’ states, and entities come to mind.

Maybe it’s none of these – maybe it’s just some part of your history taking a deep breath and saying with great kindness and understanding – and patience – “OK, let’s try this again!” Some people have strange expectations of this work: “What have I done wrong? Why am I being punished?” and “Do I have a Soul Mate? How can we be together again?” are among the most common. I need to be clear that our aim is not to reinforce anyone’s ego; all we try to do is to find out how the experience was misunderstood. By reviewing it from a distance, we can put things in perspective and understand what really happened, and then release the blocked energy.

My favourite story: A young Soul made the decision to experience being a nun, and the following happened: Life #1: stillborn. Life #2: died in infancy. Life #3: kidnapped by Raiders and sold into slavery. Life #4: grew up in a brothel, chance of becoming a nun very unlikely. Life #5: sold by family as a child bride. Life #6: abused – turned to crime and cruelty. Life #7: decided to marry and raise a family. Life #8: Raiders kidnapped her, again. Life #9: Novice finally entered a convent – Raiders (again), raped and pillaged and burned everything. Life #10: Ordained as a nun (Tremendous relief felt by Eternal Self!) This, of course, can be expanded with all sorts of variations and additions to stretch the time covered.

In the Inner Tuition course we explore and clear past life issues, or Deep Cellular memory; and re-negotiate Soul Contracts. By working with the chakras, we trace the story and put it into context, so the irrational aspect of the fear is explained. Maybe you know someone who is beginning a spiritual journey, and who experiences overwhelming fear and resistance, for example? Maybe there is a crippling fear of kidnap? I’m not really surprised!
By reading your own chakras, where this information and patterning is held, you can track your own Soul path and read your own Inner Tuition.

What is your present personality, and what is your Eternal Self. How do they communicate? How can you use this information to make your current reality work better?
Chakras have many functions; among them is being the record-keeper of the body and soul. To explain this, I use my cell phone: it has a number of different uses – I speak to a friend, write a message, share photographs, record voices, record a video, connect to the internet and so much more. So it is with chakras. They have a variety of functions. The function I want to talk about today is the two systems we have to record information: namely “present personality”, looking at this incarnation and current knowledge; and overall soul evolution – the “Eternal Self”.

There are 7 chakras and they work in two systems (among a whole lot more). The lower four chakras – namely base/root, sacral, solar plexus and heart – focus on the here and now. It is through these chakras that you communicate with your body, your family and your physical reality; where you understand how you relate to your world – you decide if this place is safe, threatening, exciting or comfortable; where you negotiate and find were you fit in to society and what legacy you wish to leave behind; and how you feel about yourself. In other words – this is where you hold the ‘story’ about your present reality. This is adequately covered by many healing modalities and methods.

There is another ‘story’ that you hold in the heart chakra, the throat, the brow/third eye and the crown chakra. This is the story of your soul evolution; and it traces the path the Soul has travelled. By working with chakras we establish what you have chosen to experience in this incarnation, and why – the Karmic Blueprint. We look at the current life and establish if you’re on track, or if not, and where you need to focus your attention.

Your present personality tends, usually, to pay attention to the negative, to blame, to focus on failure, to judge, to repeat – endlessly – “I should/must/ought” or “… but what if?” and equally unhelpful, unanswerable self-questioning. The Eternal Self sees things from a vastly different perspective and is far more understanding and a lot kinder. From present personality point of view – we only have NOW. From Eternal Self perspective – you have ultimately unlimited opportunities to get things right … a few failures now and then are nothing to worry about.
When we communicate with the different systems within the chakra system, the energy presents itself in different ways, depending on the sensitivity of the healer. A great deal of the Inner Tuition training course is focused on developing this sensitivity. It’s very interesting to witness the innovative ways the body and/or soul has to get the information across. Sometimes it’s in pictures, sometimes a story with great detail, sometimes colour, sound or just a word. As I have explained each chakra has intelligence and is able to guide and assist in healing misalignment in energy or in belief.

The Eternal Self has tremendous wisdom on tap for the current personality to use. This is held in the chakras, where you record your own Inner Tuition.

Do you have a soul? How do you know? How do you learn to listen to it without using foreign substances or subjecting yourself to any unhealthy practice?
Do you have a soul? This depends on how you define “soul”. Do you have a spark of life in you? Do you have some sort of inner guidance that leads you to what, instinctively, feels right for you? Then, yes, I would think you have a soul. Some folk find that this reservoir of knowledge and guidance can become very burdensome; but even those who have been taught there is nothing else other than the physical body, have an unconscious knowledge of something bigger than Self; those who have experienced extreme lovelessness, have an instinctive recognition of kindness and beauty; those who would to anything to avoid confrontation, have an instinctive desire to defend themselves, or someone else who needs protection.

As we grow in age, develop and mature, the chakras interpret and hold the information we learn. Each chakra resonates closely with maturity-applicable experience. Imagine if you will a simple ladder which we climb, rung by rung. To climb this ladder you have to step on each rung, find you footing, get your balance, and then use it to hold your weight as you climb to the next rung. One seldom runs up a ladder, missing rungs altogether. You risk a hard fall. And so it is with the development of chakras. There are many milestones we reach as we grow. Each new experience gives the opportunity to learn and to express, and the more we allow this to happen, the clearer we hear. This, in essence, raises our level of vibration, raises our awareness and raises our expectation of ourselves. This force draws the energies upwards – as all our experiences are directed toward understanding and releasing the unwanted baggage we carry.

First you learn to walk, and then maybe learn to ride a bike, maybe progress to a scooter, then with great joy you get a battered old car you love out of all proportion to its monetary value. After an appropriate number of upgrades, you may get to drive a vehicle that has a turn of speed. By this time, hopefully, you will be able to handle the speed sensibly and sensitively. If you get behind the wheel of a fast car before you’re emotionally ready for it, disaster is sure to follow.

Each chakra is a step, and each step has to be secure before the next one can be reached. It is relatively easy to observe where people are stuck, or where they have not completely dealt with unfinished business. As I said, the chakras are the logbooks of the body; they hold a record of everything you have experienced, good and bad, complete and work-still-in-process.

To help this process there is a store of spiritual energy lying dormant in the base chakra. It is a force of great potential, which is generally awakened through spiritual practice and awareness. It has the power to link the levels of experience so that the soul’s mission may be accomplished. This force is known by the Sanskrit word Kundalini, and its great power requires appropriate respect. When the Kundalini is stimulated to rise, it assists in opening the chakras, so that information can increase understanding, and to therefore assist with the slow and steady soul evolution. In turn this Kundalini energy has to be balanced by slow and steady growth, or the uncontrolled force can cause great damage.

When the chakras have been developed in a systematic way, hand in hand with spiritual development, there is no problem in interpreting and using the new energies. This is not the case, however, if the chakras are opened artificially through abuse of substances or barely-understood ritual, or by choosing some other ‘short cut’. If the personality is not strong enough or sufficiently mature, this inrush of unfamiliar experience can be very frightening. This effect cannot occur if spiritual development is carefully monitored, using grounded common sense and respect.

Once we are in balance, and the pathway to the crown chakra is clear, the Kundalini may rise as a rush of energy up the spine. Various sensations occur, ranging from light-headedness to a state of at-oneness or bliss. Because this is unfamiliar, if we are unprepared, we react with fear.

This is why irresponsible dabbling or experimenting with esoteric practices is so dangerous. These experiences, if not understood, can be very frightening, and are often misunderstood as “possession”, curses, presence of evil influence, etc. The positive side of these can be empowering due to the increased understanding and clarity of thought, and the sensation is sought again and again. As this is often achieved using hallucinogenic substances or practices, this leads to over–use or abuse of them. The negative side, can, however, be devastating.
The same effect can be reached by slow and steady, responsible personal growth. I urge you to be patient and be willing to take responsibility for your development; be respectful and follow your own Inner Tuition.
Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? The tortoise won the race by making slow steady progress. Be the tortoise.
