What do you hear when you listen? What are you listening to?
The way young things learn about the world, is by being taught by those older than them. These may be parents or caretakers. Some care for them and some don’t. How these parents or caretakers were taught when they were small has a very significant influence on how they teach those younger than themselves.

Unfortunately, not everyone was fortunate to have a happy and supportive youth –I’m deliberately saying “youth” instead of “childhood” – a “childhood” is a specific experience, and not everyone has had the privilege. “Childhood” is a learning environment; “youth” is learning to survive. They way your teachers communicate creates memory tracts in the brain, and the younger you are when they are laid down, the deeper they are. Or – the more painful the experience, the more permanent they are, too.

It makes me sad when I hear parents talking to children; some treat their children like a fragile life form that cannot, under any circumstance, be exposed to reality ….in any way. The parents thereby creating two separate realities – the fairly harsh world of reality in which they live; and the Hollywood-inspired (or Nursery-Rhyme) world their children live in. In no way does this prepare the child for the unimagined horror of adulthood. On the other hand, I hear parents speaking to their children in a way that thrusts them, willy-nilly into the adult world, without even the courtesy of a brief time spent in the gentle, age-appropriate rate of learning. As adults we do our best to smooth out the differences which become apparent as we struggle to find common ground in the society we float around in. But, thank goodness, I also hear some parents treating their children with respect and genuineness, slowly adapting them to a world of humour, compromise and negotiation, without losing the magic.

So, who and what do you hear, when you listen? Well, this depends to a large degree on the level of emotion present when you listen. If you are listening to someone or something that is fairly peaceful, or laid-back, or where you can take time to think through what you’ve heard, you will be able to pick and choose. You may, for example, hear through the ears (and eyes – you DO know you hear with your eyes, too, don’t you?) of gentleness or excitement; of success or understanding. But if you are listening to someone or something that is loaded with strong emotion, you seldom have time to choose … you usually hear the voices and the circumstances that engraved deep paths in your thinking – usually through the ears (and eyes) of pain and survival.

So, who and what do you hear? Inner Tuition therapists guide and assist to find the middle path between extremes, and offer support to find your own truth, to hear your own words – to hear your own Inner Tuition.

You are more than just your physical body – you are an entire universe. Learn how to communicate with yourself.
If you stand and look at yourself in the mirror, you’ll see a stranger looking back at you. Of course you know this face well; you look at him/her every day. But the reason for looking at that face is often to check make-up, remnants of toothpaste, shaving cream, skin flaws, etc. Do you look deep into those eyes and try to see who is there, behind the mask?

That face is the face of a person who contains a whole inner universe: the effects of every experience you’ve had, every person you’ve met, every decision you’ve made, everything you’ve seen or heard, or understood – they are all recorded on that face. Your character, your personality, your habits, your secrets, your strengths and weaknesses are all visible, there.

You may consider yourself a pretty good judge of character – most of us do. So, do you allow others to ‘read’ you? Most of us don’t. Most of us are under the impression that we screen ourselves fairly successfully but, in truth,
the only one you fool – is yourself.

While you’re peering at your own reflection, ask yourself who it is that you are actually looking at? You have your physical body that you know well. But you have a few other ‘bodies’, or personas, as well. You have your emotional self; that part of you that feels, reacts, is happy or sad, excited or annoyed, confused or in pain. This is where you hold memory of your childhood, too. Then you have your mental self; that part of you that thinks, plans, remembers, forgets, decides and gets locked in dreadful dilemmas. Then you have your perceptual/spiritual self; this is where you hold your own particular understanding of what is good or bad, what is pleasant or ugly, what is fair or what is unacceptable. But this is also where you hold your perception of something bigger. We all believe in something. Even if you believe in nothing, then that, then, is what you believe.

Because you have four ‘ subtle bodies’, you have four sets of everything: four livers, four brains, four hearts, four digestive systems, four sets of limbs, and so on. These all communicate with each other, and … if you listen, they’ll communicate with you. So, you have four aspects of yourself, where discomfort, dysfunction, disease, etc., happens when they don’t communicate clearly between them. This explains post-traumatic stress, phantom limb syndrome, transplanted organ rejection, forgotten memories that suddenly pop up unexpectedly when we’re not looking.

I find organs have individual personalities and agendas. Some are helpful and forgiving and some are not. In an argument with an angry liver, there is only one winner, and I can assure you that it won’t be you! A chat to an area of pain will give you understanding about the reason for the pain. A word with an upset or dysfunction will open your eyes to how you can work WITH your body for optimum health.

In addition to this, there is an energy field surrounding every living thing. This energy field acts as a bridge between two very different levels of being, the physical and the subtle levels. The evolving soul is constantly changing so the level of its development changes as lessons are learned and consciousness expands. All such changes are registered in the energy field as changes of energy flow and energy quality. The energetic structure of the energy field contains information about the current state of a person’s body, mind, emotions and spiritual development at any moment in time.

So, when you look in the mirror, who do you see? Do you see the mature, wise, evolved soul you really are? Do you see someone hiding behind a mask? Do you hear the friendly babble of your own inner truth? The only one who knows this – is you. And you learn that from your own inner teacher – Inner Tuition.

What happens to the rest of your body if /when a part of it is removed or replaced?
When we talk about the body, we first need to be fully cognisant of the fact that we have more than just the physical body. We have different faces we show the world. You are more than just a physical body, you have emotions, you have thoughts and ideas and you are a spiritual Being as well. These different bodies are determined by their level of vibration. A simple way to visualise this, is to think of a lump of ice; the vibration of the molecules is very slow and heavy, so slow, in fact, that we can pick up a lump of ice and it remains solid – so solid that it can sink a ship! Raise the vibration a bit by warming it, and it will turn to water. We cannot hold a lump of water, it simply runs out between our fingers, but it’s still has enough energy and force to flatten buildings and rip up roads. Raise the vibration of the water and it turns to steam. You cannot hold steam, but you can see it, and it has enough force to drive engines. Raise the vibration of the steam and it turns to atmosphere. You cannot see atmosphere, but my goodness; you can certainly feel the humidity!

So, see the physical body as you would the ice – the vibration is slow enough to feel, measure, weigh and test; the emotional body is represented by the water – the vibration is a bit faster so you cannot actually see it, but you can certainly sense it clearly … you just KNOW when someone is angry, upset, sad or excited; the mental body is represented by the steam – the vibration is faster and spreads much further …. Ideas can be transmitted by post or electronically, ideas can last over centuries; and the spiritual body is represented by the atmosphere – the vibration is much faster and invisible to many … and can often be overlooked or completely misunderstood.

Never overlook the fact that your body is not a single entity; instead it is an entire community, with each system, organ, limb, cell playing it’s part and having its own ideas and agendas. There is a constant stream of consciousness between them and anything that affects any single part of the body is immediately known by all the other parts. The body is, actually, very like a close family. Everyone has a job to do and they all do their own work, but they gossip, they have alliances, they support each other, and they have grand and glorious celebrations together.

This is well documented; if you lose one faculty, another adapts and takes over. If the body becomes disabled in some way, either by loss or by gain, the whole finds a way to cope. If one part of the body is temporarily unable to function, another part will carry the load until things are back to normal. Maybe training is required, sometimes it happens naturally and the problem is not picked up because the adaption is so successful.

Because the body is like a very close family, if there is a problem anywhere within the body, it will try to alert you to this fact. The big problem is, though, that we tend not to listen and to ignore what the body is trying to communicate. The really serious consequences of this come when we don’t listen and the problem becomes serious enough for the physical body to become involved. This is often the last one to be called upon. There may be problems within the physical body, as a result of neglect of a problem which could have been sorted out if attention was paid sooner, or this may be genetic, or accident or illness.

If surgery is required to remove or replace a part of the physical body, then the entire family is involved. Just as it is traumatic for a family to lose a well-loved member without warning – or to suddenly have an unknown person appear with no introduction, the physical body feels the same. There are occasions, I know, when this happens quickly and without warning; accident, shark bite (or some other bite), or emergency surgery … all these are possible. But there are other occasions when notice could be given to the body.

The mental body does its best. “We are going to have to amputate your left leg, the damage from the accident is too bad.” says the doctor. Mental body does its best to tell the rest of the community, but it doesn’t always get time – it’s not as easy as picking up a telephone. Naturally the entire community is aware that something is going to happen but it’s not sure what. Suddenly the left leg is simply …. Gone! No time to say good bye, no time to thank it for carrying the community around for however long the person has been alive. No time to thank it for playing rugby and giving the emotional body such joy, or for giving the mental body such satisfaction. Just Gone. The emotional left leg is still there, and so are the mental and the spiritual left legs. The emotional left leg still carries the fear and the pain and the shock from the accident. The mental left leg is furious about the carelessness and stupidity that caused the accident. ‘Maybe you if had left 5 minutes later, or travelled a different route you would still have both legs.’ Spiritual left leg can remember a life where it was infected after a battle and the fear and pain of being a cripple and starving to death … and it manifests a terrible response to the shock. But there is no physical left leg to deal with this. So, this rogue energy drifts around the body and inhibits healing.

Another thing that is overlooked is when a stranger suddenly appears. “We have found a heart! We can prepare for a transplant!” Suddenly the body finds that the heart it’s known for a long time (an entire life time) and which has been failing, and which the entire community has pulled together to assist to keep things going, has …. Gone! No time to say goodbye, to thank it for supplying everyone with blood and oxygen and the quiet steady beat which has got weaker but not actually failed. Just … gone! And, horror of horrors! A complete stranger is suddenly in its place. No one knows who this is, where it’s come from, where it belongs – the body is immediately suspicious. The new heart is still in complete shock – remember it has also suddenly been wrenched from its known world, and it’s family, and its reality, and it is suddenly put in another community and it’s not yet got its emotional and mental and spiritual bodies in place. The space is still full of the ‘old’ heart’s various bodies. Answer? Rejection!
This is something that fills me with passion: I am fortunate to have been in this position a few times.

I was able to explain to the body that a tumour, that had been growing and causing a great deal of quiet concern to the community, was to be removed. I explained that the body would be subjected to anaesthetic, to being sliced, and sewn up again, and that this growth was going. “All this is happening tomorrow. The surgeons know what they are doing, you will be fine.” I explained to the body. The operation took place the following day. Healing was quick and complete.

I had a client who was having a kidney transplant. I warned the kidney that it was going to be removed and another kidney would be put in place. I explained to all the bodies that this was going to happen. I told them that a family member had donated his kidney, so they ‘knew’ it, already. I explained that the emotional, mental and spiritual bodies of the ‘old’ kidney had to leave at the same time, because we needed the room. I was aware of a babble of discussion and lots of questions, which I asked my client and then answered the bodies. There were some very emotional farewells – I bawled my eyes out … Most unprofessional! I believe this was a successful operation.
So, what happens to the rest of your body if /when a part of it is removed or replaced? Confusion, which is so easily dispelled, simply by respecting your body and treating it with kindness and compassion.

How do know what your body needs? By letting it guide you – by listening to your own Inner Tuition.

How does the body communicate with itself in times of stress and/or trauma?
I have mentioned, in previous posts, that the body we see, the physical body, is not the only body we have. We are complex Beings; we have different ‘aspects’ or ‘fields’ or ‘bodies’, depending on how you understand them. You are not simply a physical body, one you can see, feed, exercise and clothe. You also experience emotion – you are happy, sad, angry, excited, and creative. In addition, you have a mental “Self”, one that thinks, makes decisions, remembers understands and gets confused. And, as we are aware, we have a perceptual Self – where you hold your idea of what is fair, fun, worthwhile, enjoyable; as well as a “spiritual self” where we connect to something bigger. We all believe in something (even if you believe in nothing, then that is what you believe). In order for this energy field which surrounds you to not simply collapse like a broken egg, it is surrounded by a thin membrane. This gives the Aura its distinct oval shape. This thin membrane is very delicate but also very strong. Under stress of any kind, this membrane will tear, leaving you vulnerable.

When we experience stress or trauma, these aspects of Self respond differently. They each have a specific task to carry out, all directed, primarily, at restoring this thin membrane surrounding the energy field.
This thin membrane, called the “Sanscarra”, has the same function as an Etheric Noticeboard. This thin membrane has encoded into it, all the information that is relevant to this life-time. It provides an essential part in initial inter-personal communication.

The best way to understand this process is to imagine a community under stress; different groups of people deal with various aspects of the emergency in their own way; each part of the whole. Firemen put out blazes; paramedics deal with the injured, sanitation, transport, catering, electrical and so on. Everyone is working together at the same time, but doing different things to restore the community to where it was before the disaster.
Not all of these stages of healing are present in every case, and do not necessarily follow in this order. Some stages take longer to work through than others, and may be repeated again and again.

Initially the physical body experiences a sense of shock, a feeling of being numbed and immobilised. This shock tears the thin membrane surrounding energy field, and all the auric fluid, which fills this space, leaks out. The immediate response of the body is to repair this thin membrane and to remove anything harmful to the organism (You). So all your energy is immediately diverted to begin the repair process; and you are, initially, unaware or in denial of the seriousness of the situation. You minimise what is happening – it cannot possibly be true. Your communication system is down.

As soon as the integrity of the membrane surrounding your energy field is secure, then the healing begins. You are informed, by your various bodies, that there may be a slight problem and that normal programming will resume shortly – but in the meantime, you begin to feel overwhelming confusion, emotion and you become hypersensitive to every small detail. There is a confused babble of information as communication between the different bodies is re-established. Your body goes into overdrive to produce as much energy as possible to carry out this repair, leaving you helpless, exhausted, inadequate, and dependant on others – ironically thereby effectively increasing your stress. The different bodies begin the mopping up process as quickly as they can; clearing and sorting response, memory, judgement and so on into places where they can be stored until you can deal with them at a later stage – this is usually a chakra most relevant to the issue. At this time, the spiritual body holds the entire catastrophic situation in safety. Those who are aware of this, find themselves instinctively turning to a God they know/doubt, to an awareness of Spirit, to a belief in angels, Spirit Guides, ritual, or perhaps they blame demons and curses!
When lines of communication are fairly well reconnected, the emotional and mental bodies begin to communicate with the physical body to find out what happened. Your mind and your emotions are no longer completely confused and overloaded, and you can finally separate thinking and feeling. You start to look for someone to blame, to understand what you did or didn’t do, or should have done, your coping skills depend on your inner resources and your outer support systems. You begin to bargain with yourself, to judge, to feel guilty or to seek answers.
This can take a long time, sometimes an entire life-span. Many people get stuck here, and find it almost impossible to break free and move on. This is particularly difficult if the physical body is damaged in some way, even more so if there is permanent damage. Thinking and feeling become enmeshed; you think what you should be feeling and you feel what you should be thinking. Unclear or rogue energy jumps from one body to another, causing flashbacks of memory, flooding the body with emotion when something triggers a memory, forcing you to self-mediate, self-medicate or self-mutilate in an effort to hold the pain in one body, the physical, to keep it out of the mental or emotional. This includes symptoms of PTSD or Panic Attack Syndrome, survivors of abuse, toxic relationships, and so on.

A good therapist is invaluable at this point. It is suggested that counselling, energy work, exercise, massage, etc. will all help to give perspective. The places where memory and response were stored are explored and cleared, motives and reactions are re-examined – you find respect and growth.
When the physical body, the emotional body and the mental body are strongly identified and back where they are supposed to be, the delineation between them is clear, then they begin to communicate with the spiritual body.
You begin to understand things that happened, and to put them in context. You find forgiveness and understanding – both for yourself and the others involved. You grow in wisdom and compassion, and you sound out new coping techniques. You become aware of the bigger picture.

Once communication with the spiritual body is well established, and all four bodies are functioning well together, and the thin membrane surrounding and protecting your entire energy field is strong and whole, you find that you can look back at the events that have unfolded with peace and forgiveness. You will have grown in maturity and understanding. You will either be able to forgive whatever it was that happened, or simply let it go and move on with your life. Or, if there is a strong resonance of memory held in the spiritual body, from some past life experience, you may find that this becomes entangled with the recent event, and shows as some form of dysfunctional behaviour in the present. You find you begin to think differently or focus on inappropriate ritual or even develop some sort of phobia.

A good past life regression facilitator will be of immeasurable help with this, but separating the past and the present and will assist you to find perspective. Inner Tuition therapists specialise in doing this, because they communicate with and restore healing to all the bodies.

We help you learn from your own Inner Tuition.

How do we keep our own energy vibration high enough to ensure personal health?
The first step is to define “health”? In the previous set of questions I answered, I explained that we have four distinct levels of Being. (To repeat: we have four “bodies” or “fields”; emotional, emotional, mental and perceptual/spiritual.) So, where do we understand the problem to be? Where do we envisage health needing to be restored?

Sometimes pain or dysfunction has a purpose, in order to bring our attention to something that is not healthy, or that we consistently overlook. I am currently dealing with a threatened re-appearance of cancer which I controlled for almost 20 years. The immense fear I faced, made me take a good, hard look at my life. I can see where I’ve wandered, innocently and inattentively, into danger. I thank my body for this wake-up call … or I will, when I get over the shock!

Gary Young, author of “Aromatherapy: the Essential Beginning”, and Bruce Tanio, inventor of the first frequency monitor, states “that the normal frequency range of the human body is between 62-68 MHz, but if it drops below that, the individual becomes a candidate for illness. Cold symptoms appear at 58 MHz, flu symptoms at 57 MHz, Candida at 55 MHz, Epstein Bar at 52 MHz, and cancer at 42 MHz Stated simply if we can keep the body frequency high enough, and well oxygenated, we will be free of disease.”

The Harmonic Scale of Emotion, as described by Robert Tennyson Stevens, indicates which emotions have a high frequency, and which ones do not. The higher frequency emotion is enthusiasm, Love and joy. This is followed by pain (emotional or physical) which is followed by anger. The next lowest frequency emotion is fear, which is followed by grief. Below grief is apathy. Finally, the lowest frequency emotion is unconsciousness (meaning it is so awful we have completely blocked out these situations from our lives). If we are experiencing anything less than enthusiasm in any area of our life, we have lowered our frequency and are running the risk of dis-ease.

In addition to emotion, we expose ourselves on a daily basis to a number of environmental contaminants, from the food we eat to the conditions we live in. Many of the animal products we consume, unless fortunate enough to have access to “happy chickens” or “contented cows”, is already loaded with chemicals used to keep the animals healthy. The stress experienced, often when the animas is conscious that it’s being is fattened for the table, the way it is slaughtered, or the coldly efficient conditions in which it lives, fills the body with adrenalin. If you imagine the lack of happiness the animal feels when it lays its eggs, or gazes at the sky through steel mesh or fences … is there any wonder that when we consume the meat, milk, eggs, there is little happiness or health in what we eat.
The same applies to crops grown in depleted soil, or under harsh conditions.

I understand that this is how it has to be; in order to feed the increasing population and to keep production high; farmers and producers have to resort to this way of farming. I am also aware of the state of almost-“warfare” being wages by big companies. I’m not opening that door….

But, there are ways we can take personal responsibility to keep our own vibration levels high: to replace or realign this energy by regarding your food as a Blessing. The late Dr Emotio shared his research on water, and how the water crystals respond to emotion. By simply saying “thank you” to the food you are about to consume, you already raise its vibration.

Try not to overload your body. Try to eat as fresh and simple foods as possible. Keep your palate pure and enjoy your food, appreciate it, taste it, value it. Train your taste to need less salt, less sugar, reduce the amount food that is fried or over-sauced. Eat seasonal food, ideally food that is grown close to where you live, so as the food is assimilated by your body, the energy is familiar.

Enjoy your body, your abilities, your senses, your skills, your strengths and your weaknesses. Enjoy what you can do – even a walk around your garden (or your living space) will do. As you walk, tune into your body and be grateful that you can wiggle your toes, or stretch your leg, or bend your knee. Appreciate the fact that you can hold a cup of tea, stroke a child’s cheek or hug a friend. Value the senses that allow you to smell a flower, listen to the wind, or see the beauty of the sunset. Enjoy a giggle with a friend, or see the wisdom in those you love. Take the time to focus on the small things, be glad for what you have – not long for the things you don’t.
Let go of the blows and wounds you have experienced. Think of the Samurai sword; this is an object of beauty and reverence; of immense power and focused purpose. Think of how it was formed – thrust into a fire, bent and beaten 4 000 times (or so I’ve been told.) See your own life in relation to this? Maybe you’re on your way to being a
Samurai sword? Know that you are equally revered and valued, powerful and filled with purpose.

Breathe deeply and fully. The air we breathe is loaded with the life force we also identify as Chi, Ki, Prana, love, energy, health, Blessings, or some other name – they all mean the same. The act of consciously breathing in and then breathing out will slow you down, give you time to think, make gaps in the barriers and walls that stop you moving forward.

I did a course a few years ago, a very interesting course, and very valuable. The greatest gift I took away from that course was the word “Respect”. We toss that word around without thinking, and frequently without using it properly. This is a powerful word: Re-Spect –look again, see things from a different perspective, see another side, re-evaluate, re-consider, re-view, re-inspect or examine again. When we respect ourselves, we give ourselves permission to be the best we can be, released from the burdens we carry of inevitable outcome – perhaps despair, failure or disappointment.

Your body has a great deal of wisdom because each cell is a sentient Being. I will talk more, at a later stage, about Body wisdom, but for the moment knows that pain is a communication from your body to you. BUT if you don’t pay attention, and you force your body to communicate more forcefully, there WILL come a time when you have no option but to listen.

Your body will ALWAYS have the last word! Argument, bargaining, forcing, negotiation … none of it works. Keeping the vibration high is the only thing that keeps your body happy. Remember that you have four aspects – four bodies. This applies to all of them, equally. Keeping the physical happy at the expense of the emotional does not work. Keeping the mental happy at the expense of the physical does not work either. Keeping the spiritual happy at the expense of the mental – recipe for disaster. They all have to be respected, valued, and supported.

How do we do this? You listen to how these “Bodies” guide you, listen to your own level of health … learn from your own inner tuition.
