What is true power, what is soul satisfaction, and what is manipulation?
When I sat down to write this week’s posting, I was surprised to see just how much of the Inner Tuition course deals with this. Unfortunately there is just too much to include in a short page or so, and I’m going to have to summarise. I have great difficulty doing this – there is so much I want to share with you.
First thing I ask myself: what the difference is between these three things. So often they get confused and we think they are all one. They are so far from being anything remotely like each other – it makes me sad (and angry) when I’m trying to help someone who finds themselves in a deep, dark hole of depression and helplessness because they have confused them. I get just as annoyed when I hear how people try to confuse others – simply to keep them under control, or for their own selfish reasons.

True power is caring, opening, encouraging, tolerance, kindness, assisting, motivating, respecting, allowing free choice, and promoting independence. There are so many other things I have to say, but space does not permit. I hope you get the picture.

Manipulation is the opposite, it’s belittling, testing, setting limits, forcing, denying choice, promoting dependence, intruding, and it claims ultimate authority. Manipulation is status orientated, exclusive, offers short cuts and demands obedience.

Soul satisfaction recognises a greater power which is held inside – it is not any outside force, whether in body or not. (By this I mean do NOT give your power to someone or something simply because it’s ancient – or dead!) It is a balance between inner and outer worlds, it allows learning and experimenting, and permits failure. It finds joy in the smallest, simplest joy and also the most profound understanding. Each of us is an individual, with a completely unique track to follow; and it is only by honouring each step on our own, individual track that we are able to find our own soul satisfaction. Soul satisfaction gives you the right to say “No”, and to say “I don’t understand” and, more excitingly, it gives you the right to say “I don’t care” (but that does depend on the right circumstances, of course!)

My next question follows, naturally: what do we mean by the word “soul”? For each of us it has a different meaning. For some it’s a cause of great anxiety: “Am I a crystal soul, or a rainbow soul, or an indigo soul?” We ask ourselves, worriedly: “Am I an old soul, or an enlightened soul? “. Some start even further back: “Do I have a soul, at all?” If you have that uncertainty – I can guarantee that someone will be willing to provide what you think you need – at a price.

There is duality in everything: naturally you get those who proudly call themselves “soul vampires” – and then watch in delight as the confused ones reel around in shock and horror.
Some time ago, I heard about a woman in total despair. She had been told by some so-called “healers” that her soul was cracked! They offered to remove it, and fix it for her. She was assured, by these so-called “healers”, that if she didn’t allow them to heal her soul, she would lose her job, her relationships, and finally – her life. Of course, this entailed a rather large amount of money changing hands (but you knew that, didn’t you?) She was asked to pay them money immediately, whereupon they unhooked this cracked soul; and then she was told to return in fourteen days, with more money, to have it reattached.

Needless to say, she lost her job, and then several significant relationships collapsed. She had no money to pay to reclaim her soul. When I heard of her, all she could do was cry, and try to pluck up enough courage to commit suicide, because time and method of her death was the only thing over which she had any control. After some discussion, she was back to normal, and within a few weeks she found another job. I heard, via an excited grapevine, that she met someone worthy of her and was happy.

I turned my attention to these so-called “healers”! I learned that they had left Cape Town, but I believe they move around the country fairly regularly; I’m patiently waiting for their return…

I know that there is only “Love”; but there is manipulation of love, distortion of love, absence of love, betrayal of love, expectation of love, demands of love, the perception of love … and so on. I also know that “Love” is not roses and rainbows, sunsets and sympathy, candles and cuddles – or even whiskers on kittens. Instead “Love” is wild and strong, compassionate and unforgiving. True “Love” only expects the best and the truest and the strongest. If this is uncomfortable or uncompromising, or even ruthless in order to achieve this healing, then so be it.
The main direction of my work, and my teaching, is to re-establish a strong belief and re-connection to each individual’s soul purpose. As I pointed out a few weeks ago, our soul purpose is our own healing.

This goal is not met by manipulation, or by controlling another. It is a goal only met by accepting our own true power and recognising our soul satisfaction – our own inner tuition.

How do find people you can trust, and avoid those who have other agendas – those who work with fear and intimidation? Let’s look at good and bad “Magic”.
When we send a thought to someone, we send an energy impulse to him or her. A casual thought will be dissolved, but when we send strong and/or consistent thoughts, they create binding cords which tie us together. Energy flows through these cords in both directions. While they remain, we are not free to be ourselves. When we assume that others are more special and thus know better than us, we give away our own power. We lower our self-esteem, and we set ourselves up for failure, and dependence upon others.

Your energy is your power, your life force, and having the wrong energy in your body is like having a transfusion of the wrong blood type – it feels very uncomfortable. A relationship does not have to be abusive, bad or wrong to be uncomfortable. You will know when you are attached to someone or something, because your happiness becomes dependant that other person’s good will. There are times when this is right, when it’s a decision you’ve made and one you are happy with. But … there are times when it’s toxic.

People play psychological games with each other with a hidden purpose. There is a great deal of power in this, and it’s used to control others. These interactions are characterised by the assumption that it’s always someone else’s fault, never their own; they deliberately make others feel stupid or guilty; they hide behind cynicism or “dry wit”; and they feel comfortable when some else’s weakness is exposed. In short, they simply cannot accept that there are solutions where both parties can feel good or find a workable compromise.

Another ‘game’ which is frequently used, is the manipulation of time – someone arrives late or early, or makes you wait; manipulation of compassion – presses your guilt buttons, or demands more from you than you feel comfortable to give; or manipulation of sex – unfair assumption of your sexual identity, sexual innuendo or even harassment.
When you feel comfortable with someone, you feel understood, and you don’t feel pressured to be who you are not – then this may be a time to explore further. If not … then don’t.

What do we mean by “magic”? There are five basic types. In the mind of the general public, the word “magic” supposedly refers to “the power of influence” and is recognizable by the “colour” of its purpose and usage:

White magic: this is spirit-based, for the purpose of healing one’s self and others; emphasizes growth and guardianship; enhances, and protects.
We use white magic by:
• lighting candles, using potpourri, hanging wind chimes or crystals;
• using herbs for healing or for cooking;
• protecting natural environments and legacies;
• Creating feasts and fairs for public enjoyment and edification.

Black magic: this is ego-based, for the purpose of adding to one’s self-importance; emphasizes possessions and status.
We use black magic by:
• employing trickery or deceit to fool someone, or cause something to happen;
• Seeking to control others through willpower;
• “arranging” recognition and advancement instead of earning it;
• Threatening, or wishing harm;
• Taking over without permission.

Grey magic: this is belief-based, for the purpose of acquiring attention or imposing a point of view; emphasizes cultural fixations; entices, manipulates and controls.
We use grey magic by:
• Telling “white” lies to avoid facing the truth;
• Engaging in “quick fixes” that compromise integrity,
• Using spiritual “shortcuts” that bypass integration;
• False advertising, half-truths, programming.

Real magic: this is feeling-based, for the purpose of establishing an open and accepting mood; emphasizes receptivity and sensitivity and encourages.
Real magic is when:
• Our forebears understood that when someone was receptive and sensitive enough, that person could then draw toward him or her all manner of unique or desirable happenings, with little or no effort, almost as it “charmed” (possessed of magic).
• Today, receptivity is regarded as a willingness to receive, and an openness that is both responsive and non-judgemental.
• These qualities are important if we want to explore, invent, create, or exhibit the sureness of faith that is open to allowing trust and joy.

Soul magic: this is source-based, for the purpose of learning through experience, so the soul can evolve;
Soul magic is used for
• Self-empowerment,
• Personal responsibility,
• Upliftment, freedom, and bringing together in wholeness.

Most people think of Magic as rather dangerous, manipulative, or requiring a magic wand and a broomstick. Pointed hats and black cats are optional. However, we use magic in one form or another, every day. By working consciously and with integrity, this becomes our own Inner Tuition.

Who are you? Why did you choose to be who you are? Why did you choose the life you’re living? Why did you choose these companions to experience your life?
Each of us has an innate wish to be healthy and strong; to thrive and to grow; and to belong. This ancient, inner wisdom views all life with a refreshing perspective that can shift our experience of situations from consternation or emotional pain into one of insight and expansion.

Just as a tree grows vast and magnificent over many years, many seasons where it appears to die, and then burst into life again, so do we. We have time, over a number of incarnations, in order to grow and experience. The way we heal is by Soul evolution – the contract with our soul is to experience every aspect of every facet of the human psyche. This can profoundly change our relationship with others.

One part of the personality we present to the world has learned socially acceptable behaviour, and knows how to modify certain instincts and desires to fit into society. Another part of the personality, however, has desires and feelings we consider unacceptable. When we integrate the nice with the nasty we can be genuine, feel good about ourselves, and be clear in our dealings with others.

We do, however, frequently project these “bad” feelings and behaviours onto others who we perceive as “not being the same as us”. With time and maturity, and a lot of hard, painful, dedicated work – which takes enormous patience and courage, we can find a natural balance between judgement and acceptance. Not everything should be forgiven, and not everything should be forgotten. This is how we evolve and grow.

My clients often ask me if I can tell them what their life purpose is. The answer is simple, and it’s the same for everyone. Your life purpose is your own healing – nothing more, nothing less. If, in the course of achieving this healing, you are able to be of assistance to someone else, that is a bonus. Paradoxically, those who devote their lives to assisting others are not achieving their own life purpose. There is balance required in everything.
Men and women need to learn to communicate with each other much more efficiently. Men need to understand and experience their own strong feminine energy; and women need to reclaim their own masculine power, whilst retaining their natural gentleness and love. Many men think that getting in touch with their femininity will disempower them, just as many women feel that over-indulging in their masculinity will empower them. The opposite is true. A man or woman can only be truly strong and powerful if he/she is complete and balanced – masculine and feminine in perfect harmony within one body. And we ALL have both masculine and feminine energy flows in the body! I’ll explain gender choices in weeks 13 and 14.

Both men and women need to look within themselves and learn to balance their imbalances, if they are to live in peace and harmony. We all need to examine our faults and weaknesses and turn them into knowledge and strength. Nature is the greatest teacher to those willing to learn with patience and humility. The responsibility lies with you. You can choose to learn, or you can choose to remain ignorant.

Our Divine Birth-right is choice. All too often, we abdicate this choice and blame everyone else – the Government, the weather, ourselves, God … the list is endless. It is by constantly growing and experiencing that we begin to accept this choice and to understand that sometimes things get sticky – the life you’ve chosen may be painful, sad, overwhelming, successful, happy, powerful and so on. Accept it, learn and move on. Once the lesson is learned, you will not need to repeat it – what a relief! The more lessons you learn, the wiser you become. There are no mistakes, only lessons – and no shortcuts! Remember that the individual, who makes no mistakes in his life, ends up an old fool.

In order to learn in safety, there are gentle rituals we instinctively follow; some are required to keep societal laws in place; and others to maintain physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual health. Instinctively, we are drawn to worship someone/something we feel greater than ourselves. This could be a sacred icon, or an individual. However, when we fully accept that strength and protection originate from inside acceptance, instead of outside ritual, we will find peace, strength and courage.

You cannot change the world, and you cannot change those around you – you can only change yourself. The person who makes many mistakes, but learns from each of them, becomes very wise. We can find ourselves being able to enjoy being in the “now” instead of living in the “but what if…” We live in the “now” and not in the “know” – this is true Inner Tuition.

What is Cellular Memory, and what is Deep Cellular Memory Release? How is this different to your Soul Story?
Cellular memory is the memory of the Soul. This is where you hold ancient wisdom, the culmination of many times of inhabiting a human body, or “missions”, to use military terminology. This Soul memory has many faces, and a myriad ways of presenting itself. A vast number of teaching methods – from cellular memory, patterns held in the deepest and slowest rate of vibration = that held in the physical body; to maturity – memory held in the emotional field; intelligence – memory held in the mental field; and spiritual wisdom – memory held in the spiritual field.
As I mentioned in my last posting, memory which is created in the present life experience is constantly changing and growing, or being altered. You learn one way of being as a child, and this changes as you grow up. Stress, pain, fear, shame, trauma carves new pathways in the brain, and it takes great strength of will to undo the effects of Post-Traumatic stress. There are many therapists who are highly qualified to assist with this. Education and training work in the same way. This is all cellular memory.

Deep cellular memory, however, is different. This comes from a time when the Soul was exposed to an experience which has value, and which is significant to the greater good of the individual. Sometimes this presents as negative experience, which is a quicker and more effective way of bringing it to your current consciousness. If presented as a positive experience, unfortunately a sense of entitlement, of seeing this peace, understanding or skill as being automatically your right, clouds its purpose. But, if you have had some element of struggle to clear, or to understand, or to overcome a negative experience, then it has more value.
Soul Song, on the other hand, is a tool your consciousness employs, now and again, to assist you. Sometimes we sense it as memory, or instinct. You are presented with a “story” which is not, necessarily, anything to do with Past life memory. By using the “story” and applying it to the present situation you are dealing with, you will have deep wisdom which helps to guide you to a place of peaceful resolution. Unfortunately there are many folk who cling to the mistaken belief that this information does, in fact, refer to a past life, and those who are not sufficiently aware (or inexpertly guided) may find that this information may have an effect on their concept of identity.

Over the past 30 years I have had a number of clients who find it difficult to deal with the facts presented to them by therapists, assuring them that various factors are playing out in their present life experiences. Some people can cope and some can’t. There is tremendous relief when I explain that sometimes this is just a story told by the Soul to assist awareness and understanding.

The Soul does its best to help us enhance our own Inner Tuition.

What part of you thinks and what part of you is really remembering?
Each of our cells is a sentient being, and has memory and intelligence. We tend to forget this, and to see ourselves as a single unit. In fact, some of us don’t even get that far, and fail to see the individual. There are those who see people as groups or types … or even as mindless multitudes. This has happened throughout history – and it ALWAYS leads to trouble, because there is an inherent desire for people to be seen as individuals.
So, I ask you to accord yourself – your physical body – the same respect.
Every part of you; cells, limbs, organs, senses, systems, as well as the individual “fields” or “bodies” has its own intelligence and its own understanding and its own agenda. You are a long way from being a single unit.
I have written at length about the different aspects of our Being; physical, emotional, mental and perceptual/spiritual. This time I’m going to talk about cellular memory.
There are many people who scoff and ridicule the idea of the liver having a personality, or the colon having an agenda, the heart having a memory. Expand that, further, and maybe consider the possibility of the physical liver having a personality, the emotional heart having a memory, or the mental colon having an agenda? I have touched on this, and I will again, but right now, I’m looking at the memory held by each cell (limb, organ, sense, system, and so on)
Where does this memory come from? From childhood, from the first experience you remember with strong emotion. We understand – and accept, most of us, that it’s easier to learn if we engage more than one sense in order to learn. To simply listen while someone drones on, endlessly, about a concept or an idea that remains exactly that … an idea means that it seldom becomes part of your memory and your understanding. To be actively involved in the learning process makes it easier to remember; to perform the same action over and over makes it easier to remember, and in the right circumstance, this becomes automatic. BUT to understand what you are being taught, to incorporate your own inner knowledge with that teaching, and to be free to follow your own free will to achieve what you are taught … well, in that case you have been taught properly. OK, so this is the way good teachers get their message across. This is seen as a positive.
But it works on the negative, as well. Pain, humiliation, fear and grief are very good teachers, as well. If a memory pops up, unexpectedly, and you are able to remember where you learned that particular lesson, it makes sense. BUT if a memory pops up that seems completely foreign to your life experience, and you have no context into which it fits, people start seeking answers. Depending on your programming this could be laid at the door of angelic wisdom, ancestor’s influence, reincarnation, subconscious patterns, demonic possession, multiple personalities, and so on – each one more bizarre than the other. All of it is cellular memory.
There are many who are more qualified than I am who have information about how memory is laid down in childhood, and there are many more who speak with authority about teaching methods and the development of intelligence. My knowledge is specific to past life patterns or deep cellular memory. I know I am speaking against the teachings – and the beliefs – of many when I say that I believe strongly that we have more than just NOW. Nature doesn’t work that way. And, like it or not, we are part of nature.
Look around you. A tree grows over many years, each season it “dies” and after a period of being dormant, it appears to miraculously be “reborn”. If this tree has a season or two of drought, this will be recorded in the “rings”; if the place where the tree is growing is exposed to a regular strong wind, the tree will grow leaning with the wind; if the tree is damaged, it will continue to show signs of this damage for a long time, maybe until it finally falls. A river slowly wears away rock, following its path down to the sea. If the earth is moved perhaps by volcanic action or, more slowly, by the collision of continents, then the river may continue flowing along the bed it has carved over time – although this appears to run contrary to the land through which it is flowing.
And so it is with us: sometimes we appear to have memory, or patterns of behaviour, which appear contrary to our life experience. I feel this is where a lot of weird behaviour or phobias, or tendency to develop disease or allergies comes from. I have a number of people who come to me, asking for a Past- life Regression to explain something inexplicable. There are times when the answers may be held in Past- life experience … but there are times this is definitely NOT the case. It is important to know the difference.
I have talked about Past-life influence before, and I will again, but I need to be absolutely clear that this is not the answer to every problem. I sympathise with those therapists who work with main-stream medicine and health who get bombarded by claims that the answers to every problem – well to a great number of problems – lies in working with a therapist who specialises in Past-life regression. This is not true. Yes, there are times when it is effective, but there is time when it is not. Instead, there is a very real case to be argued that a great deal of the problems we encounter and we play out in our present understanding have absolutely nothing to do with previous incarnations. Instead, their roots can be found in childhood.
This is why, when I’m approached and asked for a “Regression”, I take great care to ensure that all other avenues have been explored, and I never work with someone just for the experience. This is madness.
So, what part of you thinks and what part of you is really remembering? I suggest that you seek professional assistance to see where the roots of the problem lie; if they can be traced to present-life experience, then deal with them appropriately. If, however, it seems that there is no logical foundation for the problem, then there is a strong possibility that this is a memory from some other time. Then, and only then, is regression therapy appropriate.
I am very willing to assist you to find where this comes from and the reason your Soul has made the effort to bring it into the present consciousness. I will give you the tools to access your own Inner Tuition.
